Team came to surprise them with the biggest Children’s Day Feaster right in their Center, the event was filled with wonderful WoW! Moments that leaves everybody breathless.

The Make It WoW! Team with the support of donors and partners organized a mega event for the kids, event filled with series of entertainment and games along side Surprise gifts, food, drinks and cash donation to the foundation.

The Agony of a Roadside Sweeper with 4 unemployed Gradutes. LXG Summit/ Legacy Awards.

LXG Media has been celebrating and acknowledging hard working people the community would easily over look for the past 4years, through its annual Legacy Award Event.
2014 Legacy Award showcased some amazing stories that will touch your soul. This year Legacy Award is going to be a wonderful one, i can promise you that. Legacy Awards created over fifteen 15 jobs for unemployed graduates last year. We intend to double this number this year. Watch out for 2015 4th LXG Summit/Legacy Awards.

The LXG team went out of our way last year to recognise and encourage a dedicated traffic warden in Ondo State. His name Is, Sgt Elom. He has been working as traffic warden in the streets of Akure for the past 21years.

He’s known as the traffic master according to his colleagues and the people of Ondo state. During our interview with Sgt Elom, he said, he now control traffic in his dreams. Off course anything you do diligently for 21years will automatically be part of you.
Sgt Elom is a proud father of 3children.
He wants to leave a legacy as an excellent Traffic controller. As we all know that the legacy of heroes is in the memory of great name and the inheritance of a great example.

Another meritorious awardee was Mrs Flornce Adepitan, a street sweeper. She wakes up 5:30am every day for the past 20years to make our environment clean, Mrs Florence Adepitan a mother of four unemployed graduates has been so diligent with her work.

She managed to send all her four (4) children to school being a road side sweeper. This was done, according to her, with the help of God.
Thanks to God and LXG Team, Legacy Awards was able to provide jobs for 2 of her children.

Chief Captain Rufus Orimoloye was another awardee of note. He was the first Nigeria Pilot to join Nigeria Airways in 1956 and flew Nigeria Airways for 26years without any bad record. He currently lives in Akure; the 1st Nigeria Pilot has not been paid his pension for the past 18years.
When asked for his Legacy this is what he had to say: ‘’well in any situation i find myself in. I always try to do my best. I don’t want to be remembered for anything in particular, because we as human beings we find ourselves in various situations which isn’t our making, but in wherever situation we find ourselves in, we must always do our best’’.

I am contented with my job that is what Mr Tope Oluwadare,

waste truck driver with the ministry of waste management said when he was been interviewed by LXG Team, he was given the award as the best driver of the year in 2010 due to his commitment and diligence towards his duty as the waste truck drive.

Scary! ‘Ghost’ photobombs happy couple in wedding picture

Do you see the supposed ‘Ghost?’ Look between the couple’s jaws, its hiding behind them. The wedding photo was posted on Reddit and the couple, Kevin and Christina Denis, claim they were left shocked when noticed a photo of them smiling at the camera with what looks like a creepy face smirking behind them. The man posted the photo on Reddit and wrote;

“Me and my wife’s favourite wedding photo… Until we saw what was between us… We still don’t know who it was.”

‘Evil’ twin complete with bone, hair and teeth found inside woman’s brain

26 year old Yamini Karanam, was having brain surgery for a suspected tumour when she discovered her “evil twin sister”

An embryonic twin has been find inside a woman’s brain while she was having surgery for a suspected tumour. Doctors discovered the twin, known medically as a ‘teratoma’, complete with bone, hair and teeth, inside the brain of Yamini Karanam.
Yamini sought medical help last September when she began to struggle with conversations and reading. If a couple of people were talking in the room, I wouldn’t understand what was happening,” Yamini told NBC Los Angeles. “I just didn’t imagine any of this”
Doctors were initially unsure what was wrong with the PhD student and performed keyhole surgery in her brain.
That was when surgeons made the amazing discovery and removed the teratoma – Yamimi’s twin that never developed.
Yamini, from Indiana, joked that the teratoma was was her “evil twin sister who’s been torturing me for the past 26 years”.

Dr Hrayr Shahinian, at the Skullbase Institute in Los Angeles, said it was only the second teratoma he had come across out of up to 8,000 brain tumours he has removed.

72 year old Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri, who was one of late Saddam Hussein’s most trusted henchmen in Ba’ath Party and later became an ISIS commander has died in fighting in Tikrit. al-Douri, who was one of the world’s most wanted man and had a $10million bounty on his head was killed during fighting with government troops in Salahuddin province, north of Baghdad, on Friday according to Iraqi officials. The man, popularly known as King of Clubs, was fighting alongside ISIS militants.

Al-Douri, headed the Naqshbandi Order insurgent group, an important faction behind the recent rise of ISIS.

He was one of Saddam’s most trusted henchmen, helping to lead his 1968 bloodless coup. Both Al-Douri and Saddam came from the same Tikriti tribal background.

Al-Douri was deemed the most high-profile official of Saddam’s Ba’ath Party to evade capture after the invasion.
He was ranked sixth on the US military’s list of the 55 most-wanted Iraqis after offensive to overthrow Saddam and had a $10m bounty on his head.
He was the King of Clubs in the infamous pack of cards the US issued of wanted members of Saddam’s regime after its collapse.

MIMIKO DECEIVED JONATHAN

You once said you are a strong member of PDP but that you loved to see APC getting stronger. When you said this did you ever have the feeling that APC will become the ruling party in Nigeria so soon?
Definitely I never ever dreamed of APC winning the election at that time though APC was gaining ground. But as soon as I made that statement APC picked Buhari as its presidential candidate and I knew immediately that Buhari was going to win the hearts of Nigerians because the most deadly canker-warm that is troubling this country is corruption and Buhari has always be against corruption. His anticorruption antecedent made me to vote for him back then in 2011 general election and I equally supported his presidential campaign even when I knew he can’t win the 2011 election. During this last presidential election it is unfortunate that I was sick which prevented me from voting for him but my heart went with him.
Governor Olusegun Mimiko was the South West campaign coordinator for President Goodluck re-election bid and he promised to deliver more than one million votes for the president but it was a disaster for the PDP during the March 28 election. What is your view on this?
He miscalculated. Everybody was promising heaven on earth to Jonathan but you and I know it was mere political propaganda and empty promise and till now I know he cannot secure one million votes for Jonathan because he knew there was a serious disagreement between him and the old PDP. I was deeply involved in settling that trouble within PDP but I never succeeded because the two big factions, one led by Mimiko and the other faction led by Barr. Jimoh Ibrahim made things difficult for PDP during the last election because of their disunity. During campaign for the presidential election, there was statement credited to Governor Mimiko that Buhari cannot win 25% votes in Ondo state but I knew it was a mere deception because it was very cleared to him that the whole Nigeria wanted Buhari.
Do you think Governor Mimiko defection from Labour party to PDP was good political move?
To me I won’t call it defection because he left PDP to form Labour party in Ondo state. He again returned to PDP. So, to me, it was not a defection, it was a return home to PDP but his return was not well planned. I, as a leader, tried to settle the issue but I failed because I knew what was going to happen during the presidential election. I knew that Buhari was going to win because he is the most honest leader we have for now in Nigeria that can wipe our tears away and restore our lost glory at the global level. The President –elect is honest man. you can imagine a former military head of state that does not have a big mansion anywhere in the world, no big company and he made it known to Nigerians that he has no money to buy their mandate because the future of Nigerian is not for sale. So, to me, Buhari is the positive change we have been waiting for and let me tell you that anybody who knows me will know that I’m a symbol of honesty and I will follow that any time. I love Mimiko. I want him to spend his eight years in office provided he can use the remaining two years to under study what the people want and do it. In Ondo state I’m the father of PDP which everybody accepts and I don’t see why Mimiko should not be allowed to finish his second tenure. But some people are telling me to tell Governor Mimiko to do what the people want for the remainder of his tenure otherwise. So to me, they should allow him to finish his tenure in peace but they are telling me on condition that he will do the wishes of the people.
What are the things the people want?
What I heard from leaders in Ondo state firstly is Local Government Election. The people want him to conduct Local Government Election because they said since he has assumed office he has not conducted local government election in the state. Secondly water circulation. I was told that there is a dam that can generate water to the whole Ondo state and the equipment needed to channel this water is already on ground. All that is lacking are contractors that will lay the pipes and distribute the water which cannot take up to six month to finish. Thirdly, that he must listen to the people he is serving. PDP is still strong in Ondo state but they voted against him during the presidential election in protest and voted APC because the people needed a desired change. I talk like a father and I still want Mimiko to complete his eight years tenure in office because in Ondo state no governor has achieved that. So from my heart of hearts I still love Mimiko. Whether he is good or bad let us allow him to finish his tenure because I want to see a serving governor in Ondo state completing his eight years in office in my life time and I’m going to clock 89th years old soon.
Sir you said people voted in protest during presidential election against Mimiko so why the sudden change of mind during the last state House of Assembly election?
I don’t know but I can see our people are very hungry and also before the last election he pleaded with the people to vote for PDP candidates and as our governor and son we listened to him and gave him our mandate.
How viable will our democracy be seeing the spate of defection from PDP to APC especially in the case of the deputy Governor of Ondo State and Barr, Olusola Oke, former legal adviser to PDP?
You know what? We are very hungry and I might offend many people by saying this. There is no exception we are very hungry. So as I was saying Nigerians are very hungry because we all depend on government money with little exceptions and I happen to be one of the exceptions, I’m not a rich man and certainly I’m not a poor man. I have not really served the government but I have enough to keep me alive because I have been very consistent financially. So far so good what I have observed is that two party system is coming to stay in Nigeria and I want to plead with our politicians to allow our political system to be strong so that our democracy can grow. And as the father of PDP in Ondo state I want to plead with the people and our leaders that, we should not kill PDP because it lost election but let us rebuild it so it gets stronger and win elections in future.
Constitutionally speaking, is the deputy governor of Ondo state justified to keep his seat after defecting from PDP to APC?
Constitutionally he has the right to join any party of choice and his position as the deputy governor will still be valid because there is no place in the constitution that says otherwise. So it Is not a must that the governor and his deputy must belong to the same political party.
What is the impact of President Jonathan congratulatory message to president-elect Buhari?
To me whatever bad Jonathan did in office if there were any at all, the fact that he called Buhari to congratulate him has catapulted him to be a true democrat and an historic leader of this country. The man who started democracy in this country to me was Ibrahim Babagida, he organised two party system and conducted historic free and fair election for us and he was to announce that a new baby was born and he killed that baby at birth. The most beautiful part of the congratulatory message is that Jonathan called Buhari even before the last result was announced which placed Nigeria among the committee of nation that are democratic like United States of America, France, United Kingdom among others. I see Jonathan as a leader of peace because he said during his campaign that no Nigerians blood worth his re-election and he played to it and I want to congratulate Jonathan for that. Believe me Buhari won the election but Jonathan won the peace.
What advice do you have for the electorates?
The advice I have for the public is that they should not think all the ills of the country will be fixed by Buhari in one day but they should support him and be patient with his government. And also I want people to stop selling their votes to politician because of 500 or 100 naira But they should vote for better candidates that will deliver dividend of democracy to them in future elections.

Zulu king whose remarks incited Xenophobic attacks appeals for calm

Zulu king Goodwill Zwelithini whose remarks incited Xenophobic attacks after saying “All foreigners must leave South Africa” has appealed for calm. Speaking with his subjects today April 20th in Durban, the king said his remarks were taken out of context.

“This violence directed at our brothers and sisters is shameful. My speech … was directed at the police, calling for stricter law enforcement, but that was never reported. The public was instead given another side of my speech, which had been twisted and misrepresented.” he said
He pleaded with South Africans to stop attacking foreigners.

Xenophobia: 6,000 Nigerians will lose their jobs if MTN leaves Nigeria

MTN Nigeria says about 6,000 Nigerians will lose their jobs if MTN is made to leave Nigeria. Head of Communications MTN, Mr Wale Goodluck said this while reacting to calls by a protest group in Edo state yesterday that the telecommunications offices in Nigeria will be shut and their installations attacked if the xenophobic attacks in South Africa continues.

Mr Goodluck said there are only 12 expatriates working for the company in Nigeria compared to a workforce of 6,000 Nigerians.

“So if people go ahead with their threats to attack our facilities, what that means is that we may be forced to close down the business in Nigeria and about 6,000 Nigerians that make up 99% of our workforce will be unemployed.
Then, when you look at our support chain, we have about 500,000 Nigerians gainfully employed. So, boycotting our services simply means destroying so many other Nigerian businesses and making over 500,000 other Nigerians to lose their jobs. This business supports a lot of businesses across the length and breadth of Nigeria. Many of the businesses that are affiliated to South Africa are in the retail space, supporting the growth of Nigeria and employing so many Nigerians. We see no revenge of Xenophobia and we commend the role the Nigerian High Commissioner in South Africa has played; at least there has been no fatality on the part of any Nigerian,” he said
